PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – September 15, 2025 – An exclusive gathering of notable guests and cigar connoisseurs took place yesterday evening at the Meeting Lounge, 3rd Floor Garden, R&F City, to celebrate the launch of a new cigar, the Robusto Classico. The event, titled "Forging A Masterpiece Through a Decade," was hosted by acclaimed Cuban cigar authority, Professor Luis Sorinas.

Professor Sorinas, who dedicated his life to the art of cigar craftsmanship, is a leading voice in the world of tobacco. A former professor at a Cuban university and Scientific Leader at the Institute for Advanced Technology and Applied Sciences, he pioneered innovative studies on black tobacco varieties and the science of tobacco planting, curing, and fermentation. From 1997 to 2016, he served as an expert consultant for the state-owned Havana Cigar Company, contributing to iconic brands like Cohiba and Partagás.
During the event, Professor Sorinas shared his expertise with guests, covering topics such as personal cigar aging and smoking techniques, identifying counterfeit Cuban cigars, and pairing cigars with different whiskies. The evening culminated in the grand introduction of the new Robusto Classico.

"The creation of a fine cigar is an art form, comparable to a musical symphony," said Professor Sorinas. "This new Robusto Classico represents the blending of two cultural realms: the ancient culture of Angkor and the ancient cultures of Central America, where tobacco originated and the cigar was born."

The new Robusto Classico is a tribute to the style of classic Cuban brands, poised to stand out with its distinct character and quality. The blend embraces the old-world factory profile of Cuba while offering a new, unique origin.

“Professor Luis Sorinas has introduced a unique vitola that delivers traditional Cuban quality to connoisseurs,” said Hugo Wu, a senior cigar aficionado who attended the event. “This cigar stands apart from the rest, beautifully merging the old Cuban factory profile with an exciting new origin.”
